My wife and I did the itinerary "Trekking among the three giants" trip this week. It was amazing. Chris and Marilisa did a wonderful job putting together an itinerary that was both physically challenging and got us immersed into the most beautiful mountains we could imagine. Saw some cool wildlife (no Dahu's though?) and lots of wildflowers and glaciers. Nice mix of comfortable hotels and hostels. Would definitely recommend!

We did the 8 day "Trekking Among the Three Giants" trip in the Alps (Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc). Covered 58 km and 4,500 m of elevation gain. It was spectacular... The owners (Chris and Marilisa) were such great guides and hosts. She grew up in the shadows of the Matterhorn and Chris has climbed many of the peaks in the area. They were a wealth of knowledge in the history and the natural environment, and able to set a pace that everyone felt comfortable with. This was my first trip to Italy, and I was justly rewarded!

My trip to the Aosta Valley was my first guided hiking trek and it is definitely a winner! It was a joy to spend the day carrying a light pack, staying at rifugi and hotels each night and not having to figure out food for each meal. Chris & Marilisa are terrific guides with deep knowledge and love of the Valley which they share with great joy and enthusiasm. Added bonus is that they know the best local gelato shops. I would definitely go on another Trek Ski Plus trip.

We had a 6 day trek — 'the 3 Giants' in the Aosta Valley of the Italian Alps led by Chris Wallace. We utilized refugios, local accommodations, restaurants, ski lifts, buses and van services, organized for our 7-person group. Chris was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, organized and fun to be with. It was a challenging route, but highlighted terrific scenery and cultural experiences.

Chris and Marilisa were excellent guides on our backpacking adventure. We experienced Italy and the Alps in a way we never could have done without their expertise. From sightseeing old castles, enjoying an aperitivo, finding edelweiss in the wild, beautiful hikes with incredible scenery, staying in welcoming mountain refugios, and delightful accommodations and food in the villages — spectacular! They took care of the details and we were able to enjoy every moment.

We hiked in the Aosta Valley for six days with Chris and Marilisa in July 2022. They were superb guides in every way. Marilisa has been hiking the area for a lifetime, and Chris has spent decades hiking, climbing and skiing in the area. They are friendly, fun to hang out with, extremely knowledgeable about hiking, the area, and Italian culture, and very skilled at understanding their clients' abilities and interests. It was a perfect blend of mountain rifugio and small village boutique hotel experiences in the shadow of Cervino, Monte Rosa and Mont Blanc. This is the perfect way to hike the Italian Alps!

My trek through the Aosta valley in July 2018, hiking from rifugio to rifugio, was an unforgettable experience. My flight may have been 24 hours delayed and my hiking backpack nowhere to be found upon arrival, but with Chris and Marilisa's help, I was able to fully enjoy the experience. As a novice hiker but active adult, the hiking was a good challenge and the views were the ultimate reward. Another truly memorable part of the trip was touring Aosta and the Roman ruins and staying at an adorable hotel run by a family. That breakfast was amazing and truly epitomized the hospitality of the Italian people.

Touring this incredible valley in the Italian Alps was a true highlight of this past summer. Trek Plus supplied wonderful local guides that supplemented the information that Chris and Marilisa supplied about the fort that has guarded the valley for hundreds of years, wineries, fontina cheese producers, Roman ruins in Aosta as well as unbelievable castle tours. A wonderful experience.
