It's hard to capture in a few words how fun this trip was — a perfect mix of charming mountain towns and high alpine vistas............The hiking was fantastic, as we crossed big cols and hiked in the shadow of big mountain like Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Val d'Aosta has a fascinating history and culture, not to mention great food. Tour leaders Chris and Marilisa were great guides — friendly, upbeat, enthusiastic, and they know the region very well — Marilisa grew up there. I want to go back!

My trek through the Aosta valley in July 2018, hiking from rifugio to rifugio, was an unforgettable experience.............As a novice hiker, but active adult, the hiking was a good challenge and the views were the ultimate reward. Another truly memorable part of the trip was touring Aosta and the Roman ruins and staying at an adorable hotel run by a family. That breakfast was amazing and truly epitomized the hospitality of the Italian people.

Chris and Marilisa helped us through everything from the planning to the actual trip. Our hike took us through mountain trails of indescribable
beauty. Some hiking highlights: trails above the tree line through carpets of mountain flowers,
listening to the music of rushing water from nearby streams and waterfalls,
views of mountain ranges, glaciers, and mountain peaks such as the Matterhorn,
hiking thru ancient forests with majestic trees that were over 500 years old.
the peaceful sound of cowbells accompany us as we could see happy cows grazing on the steep hills (Happy cows = amazing cheese and butter!).
I can’t say enough good things about Chris and Marilisa! They made the trip fun and always had safety in mind. They were able to make adjustments based upon the weather and trail conditions. Their knowledge of these mountains gave us peace of mind. We will definitely travel with them in the future!
